Xangati Brings Virtualisation Success to Europe With Key Contracts for Infrastructure Performance Management

Xangati, the recognised leader in infrastructure performance management, today announced that its Infrastructure Performance Management (IPM) solution has been awarded two new customer contracts in the United Kingdom through its partnership with Kelway, an international market leader in IT solutions and services and one of the largest virtualisation consultancies in Europe. The following companies have selected and have implemented Xangati’s solution to manage their virtualised infrastructures: Produce World Ltd, a manager of fresh produce supply chains for retail; and Dickson Minto, one of the highest-rated corporate and commercial legal practices in the UK.

With the addition of these new contracts, Xangati now has more than 4000 installations worldwide. Europe represents a key portion of Xangati’s international growth. And, according to a report by the Market Intel Group, the European virtualisation market is expected to represent a $94.7 Billion market over the next five years with a strong 8.5 percent compound annual growth rate.

“Xangati is committed to work together with valued partners such as Kelway to bring our performance management solutions to growing virtualisation markets like the UK and Europe – accelerating virtualisation on a global scale and enabling companies to maximise the full value of their initiatives,” said Alan Robin, CEO of Xangati. “This commitment is validated through our expanding international reach, which includes 40 countries on five continents. Our continuous, real-time health alerts and cross-silo visibility are clearly filling an essential need for virtualisation performance management and troubleshooting in multiple markets.”

“Many of our customers, including Produce World and Dickson Minto, are choosing to transform their infrastructures using virtualisation technologies, in order to reduce IT costs and improve business agility,” said Andy Eccles, Chief Technology Officer, Kelway. “We provide them with the solutions and services that make this transformation possible. Xangati is the only performance management solution that provides a complete picture of the infrastructure, giving a real-time view into the physical and virtual components. Customers can accurately track all of the moving parts for the first time and benefit from absolute transparency of resource usage and performance analysis from within the virtualisation platform. By partnering with Xangati, we help our customers succeed by giving them the ability to move forward with their virtualisation and transformation plans.”

UK Companies Benefit from Virtualisation Initiatives with Xangati VI Dashboard

Fresh Produce Supplier Improves Infrastructure Health

Produce World manages numerous product supply chains in the UK, distributing fresh produce to retail partners. Produce World adheres to the highest standards of quality for its produce – as well as its support of both growers and customers. Virtualisation enables it to be more efficient in its business while reducing equipment costs; however, to maintain the high service standards that it needs, ensuring system performance is critical.

With more than 700 users within its IT environment, the company can have as many as 300 concurrent users during peak production hours. Produce World’s virtualisation platform includes six VMware vSphere hosts supported by iSCSI storage on the back end. A significant part of its virtual infrastructure runs multiple Citrix XenApp servers presenting desktops, as well as running line of business (LOB) plant floor applications to their five production sites.

“Xangati allows us to see everything at once – pointing out potential problems – and guides us to be much more proactive in managing our infrastructure,” said Simon Callow, Head of IT, Produce World. “Seeing all the physical and virtual components in one dashboard gives us tremendous faith in the data. We looked at other solutions, but all required significant training before seeing any benefits. Xangati was incredibly easy to get running, giving us value from the very start.”

Legal Team Wins With Virtualisation

With offices in Edinburgh and London, Dickson Minto is widely recognised as one of the top-rated corporate and commercial legal practices in the UK. Between its multiple offices, the firm supports nearly 200 users on its IT infrastructure. Relying on Citrix XenApp – delivered via 10 VMware vSphere hosts in Edinburgh and six in London – the law firm runs multiple applications, including several business critical applications – including email, legal document management and time reporting.

“For the first time – with Xangati’s VI Dashboard – we were able to see everything that was happening within the infrastructure – down to the storage level,” said Julian Rawlinson, head of Information Services and Systems (ISS) at Dickson Minto. “We were able to see the interactions of all four servers running our document management system. This insight brings us incredible peace of mind in terms of ensuring performance and gives us the ability to quickly and easily troubleshoot any problems – ensuring that our lawyers have access to the system whenever they need it.”
