The OpenNebula Project is proud to announce the twelfth stable release of its fully open-source, widely used cloud platform for managing a data center's virtual infrastructure.
OpenNebula 3.6 comes with several new capabilities that makes it a unique software for the management of private clouds based on KVM, Xen and VMware, including hotplugging, new quota and accounting tools, advanced functionality for virtual machine re-scheduling and disk cloning, and new extensions for Sunstone. As an enterprise-class product, OpenNebula offers an update path so all existing users can easily migrate their production and experimental environments to the new version. OpenNebula undergoes a thorough testing process, which has been improved and extended in version 3.6.
OpenNebula 3.6 is fully integrated with its new Marketplace, an online catalog where individuals and organizations can quickly find and distribute virtual appliances ready-to-run on OpenNebula clouds. Any user of an OpenNebula cloud can easily find and deploy appliances in a single click, and any software developer can distribute a new appliance, making it available to all OpenNebula deployments worldwide in few minutes.
"The new Sunstone and its integration with OpenNebula Marketplace offer the best user experience in the cloud computing industry", said Ruben S. Montero, Chief Architect of OpenNebula. "We are very happy to serve our users, each new release brings more countless valuable contributions from the many industry members of our large user community", said Ignacio M. Llorente, Director of OpenNebula.
