Zenoss, a leading provider of unified IT operations software for physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT infrastructure, today announced that Homecare Homebase, a leading healthcare software company serving the technology needs for the homecare and hospice industry, has chosen Zenoss Service Dynamics as the company’s unified operations platform. The company cites Zenoss’ unified view, service-model approach and ease of use as key factors in their decision. Homecare Homebase has grown tremendously in the last two years. They have doubled the amount of employees from 2010, and have doubled their physical infrastructure and tripled the amount of virtual machines running in their data center. They needed a solution that was open and flexible enough to meet these new demands, while ensuring their clients experience minimum service interruptions with faster MTTR.
“Zenoss provided us with a unique capability that other solutions we looked at didn’t offer, which is the ability to manage devices as services instead of individual data points, providing a more holistic view of our infrastructure,” said Chris Kane, Director of Technical Operations at Homecare Homebase. “Zenoss allows us to be more proactive by helping us understand how a degraded device might impact service performance or availability. This enables us to immediately solve the problem before it impacts customers.”
Zenoss was engineered to provide a unified view of a company’s infrastructure right out-of-the-box and beat-out several more siloed and departmentalized monitoring tools. As a long-time Zenoss Core user, the Homecare Homebase team was also familiar with Zenoss and found it to be a powerful open source solution but decided it was time to move to the more advanced features and scale available within the commercial product.
“Zenoss enables organizations to move from traditional IT management to operating their infrastructure as a service,” said Bill Karpovich, CEO and co-founder of Zenoss. “Our solution provides unified monitoring, service-based impact and root cause analysis, and deep analytics that provide fast growing companies like Homecare Homebase with unprecedented visibility and control of their physical, virtual, cloud, and converged infrastructure."
