Bromium, a pioneer in trustworthy computing, today announced that it has been selected as a SINET 16 Innovator. Bromium will present its vSentry product, based on the Bromium Microvisor, during the 2012 SINET Showcase to be held October 25th at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate.
The Security Innovation Network (SINET) initiatives are designed to
advance innovation and enable collaboration between the public and
private sectors to defeat global cybersecurity threats.
Eighty emerging technology companies applied and were carefully vetted in a two-stage process by the SINET Showcase Steering Committee for
the opportunity to present innovative and potentially disruptive
cybersecurity solutions to an audience of representatives from defense,
homeland security, intelligence and civilian federal agencies as well
commercial, investment and research communities. Bromium will be one of
sixteen companies presenting on stage.
"Every
year the quality of companies applying to present as a SINET 16
Innovator continues to impress the Showcase steering committee. Since
2010 we have received hundreds of applications in our efforts to advance
innovation, lead change and build trusted global collaboration models
between the public and private sectors to defeat cybersecurity threats.
We are confident that by raising the awareness of Bromium and other
finalists' capabilities, there will be an enhanced opportunity to impact
the most pressing technology needs of the Federal Government and
private industry - and, ultimately, the protection of our nation's
Critical Infrastructure and Command and Control systems. In this light, I
am excited to announce the class of 2012 SINET 16 Innovators," said
Robert Rodriguez, Chairman and Managing Principal of SINET.
Bromium
introduced its vSentry product earlier this month, allowing IT
departments to focus resources on strategic objectives, safely embracing
key trends in mobility and consumerization of IT. Users benefit from a
native desktop experience that enables and protects them, allowing
access to untrusted documents and the web without risk. In addition,
vSentry helps IT to quickly migrate new undetectable attacks. It
revolutionizes information protection, ensures compliance - even when
users make mistakes, eliminates remediation, and enables users - saving
money and time, and keeping users productive.
"Traditional
reactive security technologies are important and effective to an
extent, but as an industry, we need to start working on proactively
protecting access to the web, attachments and documents, which are
generally targeted by undetectable malware," said Gaurav Banga,
co-founder and CEO of Bromium. "We are honored to be chosen to present
at this year's SINET Showcase to explain our vSentry technology and how
it fills a void in solutions currently provided in the industry."
