Asigra Inc., a leading Cloud Backup, Recovery and Restore (BURR) software
provider since 1986, today announced an overall use case rating of “good” in the
October 9, 2012 Gartner report, “Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Endpoint
Backup.” The report compares 12 critical capabilities of backup and recovery
solutions deployed in two common use cases — mobile-workforce-centric versus
office-workforce-centric environments. The report can be accessed at http://www.gartner.com/resId=2191815.
According to
Gartner, “Tablets are increasingly used as data creation and data
modification tools. The lack of robust enterprise-level endpoint backup
products from major vendors has driven many organizations to allow employees to
use consumer-grade file sync/share services, which could pose serious potential
risk to businesses. Over time, we believe enterprise endpoint backup needs to be
an integral part of the overall endpoint protection solution, which should offer
secure access, secure collaboration, secure backup and DLP .”
In the
report, 11 products were rated on a 5-point scale with Asigra Cloud Backup
receiving a “good” rating for enterprise endpoint data protection. The company’s
best scores were received in the areas of scalability, device/OS diversity,
cloud services support, content variety, data reduction technologies, user
experience, administrator experience, security and performance.
“Until
employees began bringing their own mobile devices to the enterprise, endpoint
backup had been neglected by most organizations,” said Pavan Vyas, product
marketing manager, Asigra. With the current BYOD trend comes the need to
incorporate endpoint protection into an organization’s overall backup
infrastructure. With Asigra Cloud Backup, the company is delivering a powerful
and integrated solution to this growing challenge.”
