Bromium, Inc., a software solutions provider that makes enterprise endpoints
secure by design, today announced its arrival into the UK market with the
general availability of its vSentry product.
The company, which employs a growing R&D/engineering team in
Cambridge, has now added sales and support operations for the UK and wider
European market and is recruiting a first wave of competent reseller partners to
take Bromium into customers immediately.
"We
have a unique and revolutionary solution to an old familiar problem - fixing
endpoint security," said Ian Pratt, co-founder and SVP of Products at
Bromium. "Our technology stops 100% of
threats, unknown and known, and empowers users with the freedom to get on with
using IT and accessing the web, whether it's untrustworthy content or not, with
a safe, non-disruptive experience. Since
running with our first product in North America just five months ago, the global
response has been remarkable. A big part
of our heritage is in the UK so it made sense to push on from here; we're
committed to growing our engineering presence in Cambridge as well as addressing
the local market and branching out into Europe."
vSentry
is built on the Bromium Microvisor - a security-focused hypervisor designed to
automatically, instantly and invisibly hardware-isolate each vulnerable
Microsoft Windows task in a micro-VM that is prevented from modifying Windows or
gaining access to enterprise data or network infrastructure. Whenever a task
isolated within vSentry attempts to access files, networks, devices, the
clipboard, or interact with the user, the hardware interrupts execution and
passes control to the Microvisor, which enforces task-specific policies on a
strictly "need-to-know" basis.
vSentry
from Bromium is currently available for Windows 7, Explorer and MS Office
environments with other platform releases planned soon. In addition, vSentry incorporates Live Attack
Visualization and Analysis (LAVA), an analytics engine that allows Bromium to
essentially monitor and record the entire attack process within the safe
confines of an isolated Micro-VM. Both
vSentry and LAVA can be configured and managed through the Bromium Management
Server, enabling easier visibility and control over broad, enterprise-wide
vSentry deployments.
