The Cloud, Security and Healthcare Compliance in 2018 and Beyond

Predictions for 2018 and beyond:

2018 will not be much different than 2017 as far as cloud goes, but we will see much more emphasis on security. Security has risen as a top issue for most organizations. Getting in the cloud is not challenging but staying in the cloud will require solid infrastructure backed by a well-planned and thought out security plan.

An increasing number of DDOS attacks, ransomware incidents, and cyber crimes, will result in a very strong demand for managed services. This could trigger some sort of regulations to help introduce laws to govern security of the cloud. We will see more emphasis on encryption, two factor authentication, DDOS mitigation, ransomware and malware protection. In addition, we will see much more emphasis on load balancing, disaster recovery, and protection.

Healthcare compliance:

Hopefully, we will be able to put healthcare reform to rest and move forward with a healthcare program to the future. This will accelerate the need for healthcare IT, HIPAA compliant hosting, and security needs. Healthcare IT will become the fastest growth segment in the cloud, and we will see names like Secure Healthcare cloud.
