Evolution to an Industrial Cloud

Automation continues to enhance the way enterprise companies mobilize and protect workloads. Workload portability between multi-cloud environments will be the new normal in the years to come. Today we are in Cloud Chaos with no real standards or commonalities for public clouds and other clouds.

CloudVelox 2018 predictions are:

1.     Evolution from industrial Data Center to Cloud, to Cloud Chaos, to Industrial Cloud.  Today we are in Cloud Chaos with no real commonalities or standards for public clouds and other clouds.

2.     Risk of exponential complexity with hybrid cloud/multi-cloud.  Automation becomes critical

3.     Hybrid cloud networking will play a big role.

4.     AWS, Azure, Google will be for new workloads in public clouds; VMware and Oracle will maintain control of legacy workloads in their own clouds.

5.     Large enterprises will rely on MSP/Hosting Partners like IBM, CenturyLink, etc. because they cannot solve things internally.

6.     DR in public clouds will gain more traction.

7.     Rise in the use of containers
