APC by Schneider Electric Recognizes Scale Computing as an Alliance Partner for its Micro Data Center Xpress Solution

Scale Computing announced today it has been chosen as an Alliance Partner by APC by Schneider Electric supporting its award-winning hyperconverged Micro Data Center Xpress solution. Designed to simplify physical deployments for Edge environments, the Micro Data Center Xpress delivers a fast, cost effective and resilient solution for channel partners, MSPs and end users, as well as meeting the challenges of Big Data and IoT.

Scale's award winning portfolio of HC3 hyperconverged solutions combines storage, servers and virtualization in one comprehensive system to automate overall management. This allows IT to focus on managing applications rather than infrastructure. With no virtualization software to license and no external storage to buy, HC3 products reduce out-of-pocket costs and radically simplify the infrastructure needed to keep applications running. Scale, with its innovative approach to HCI, has been named Virtualization Company of the Year two years in a row at the Storage, Virtualization, Cloud (SVC) Awards.

According to 451 Research, Micro Data Centers on the edge are growing in popularity with a compound annual growth rate of 42 percent over the last three years. Organizations from numerous vertical markets are realizing the huge benefits of embedding compute and storage capacity closer to where the data is being generated. From retailers and utility companies through to shipping companies, hospitals and universities, all are realizing the potential of addressing the demand for highly distributed capacity.

To support this demand, APC by Schneider Electric created the Micro Data Center Xpress solution, which combines a purpose-built infrastructure with a physical management wrapper for hyperconverged architectures. This enables organizations to simply and efficiently plug in the Micro Data Center Xpress to deliver a complete and highly energy-efficient IT solution that is pre-tested, optimized and able to be deployed rapidly. This arrangement creates a reliable and robust environment to leverage the best of on-premises and multi-cloud infrastructures.

"Our innovative micro data center solutions continue to be recognized as industry leading technologies generating significant interest across the market, as demonstrated with some recent award wins including the SVC Awards and Data Centre Solutions Awards in the UK, where by popular vote, we won the ‘Hyperconverged Innovation of the Year' and ‘Micro Datacenter of the Year' awards," said Cissy Walker, global director, IT Alliances, Schneider Electric. "Working with Scale as an alliance partner supporting our Micro Data Center Xpress, we can ensure our customers the highest level of expertise when designing solutions to meet the needs of today's data centers and distributed environments, while setting us up to address the biggest challenges of tomorrow."

"Copaco is very thrilled to work with Scale Computing, Lenovo and APC by Schneider Electric on a Micro Datacenter-in-a-Box solution. Collaborating with these market leaders will make sure this hyperconverged solution has an optimized configuration and performance. We believe this turnkey solution will have a great impact on the SMB-sector and that it will be very successful within the Dutch market," said Sacha Wingers, business director ESG at Copaco in the Netherlands.

Jeff Ready, CEO of Scale Computing commented, "Looking ahead to 2018 and beyond, the future is all about simplifying hybrid IT. By using hyperconverged solutions to support remote and branch locations, and making the edge more intelligent in conjunction with a hybrid cloud model, organizations can support highly changeable applications. Deploying this micro data center solution from APC by Schneider Electric gives organizations the flexibility to quickly scale capacity and computing power at the edge. This saves time, money and resources, which will be a game changer for end users, channel partners and MSPs globally."
