Stratoscale, a leading provider of software-only cloud infrastructure, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure. Stratoscale expands the vision of Hyperconverged Infrastructure to support cloud-native applications in enterprise environments.

"We are proud to be included in this inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant. We believe our placement in the Visionaries quadrant validates our mission to support the modern datacenter," said Ariel Maislos, Stratoscale founder & CEO. "We support developing, deploying and scaling modern applications, in the enterprise and on the cloud in a consistent manner."

According to Gartner, "Over the next few years, cloud deployment models will become increasingly important to meet both short-term scale-up/scale-down requirements and backup and disaster recovery requirements. An important question for users is whether HCI is a stepping stone to the cloud or a 'foreseeable future' resting place for applications."

"Our solution delivers a comprehensive suite of cloud services (including AWS compatible APIs) on top of our software-only hyperconverged infrastructure solution, enabling enterprises to enjoy the advantages of cloud-native applications running on their hyperconverged enterprise environments. Our focus on API compatibility with AWS allows customers to easily transition and scale to the cloud and back, without re-writing cloud-native applications," added Maislos. "Software-only hyperconverged gives freedom from hardware lock-in, while AWS API support solves the cloud lock-in requirements we see from our customers."
