Take the 2018 End User Computing - State of the Union Survey

ATTENTION VDI Users and End User Computing (EUC) Community Members: The 'End User Computing - State of the Union' is BACK!

Ruben Spruijt and Mark Plettenberg of VDI Like a Pro have officially launched their 2018 State of the VDI and SBC union survey and they are asking for your help and expertise.

While Ruben is the Field CTO of Frame and Mark is the Senior Product Manager at Login VSI, 'VDI Like a Pro' is an independent project that's being done in their spare time, with the goal to provide a yearly insider view of the End User Computing (EUC) community.  And this year marks the fifth edition of that survey which was first conducted back in 2013 by Ruben Spruijt and Jeroen van de Kamp from the ProjectVRC team.

With the bulk of the questions repeated yearly, the survey not only gathers data about the current status of the industry but also discovers changes and trends.  Last year close to 1,000 respondents participated in the survey, making this initiative one of the largest research projects on the EUC market.

Topics in the survey will cover Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Desktop-as-a-Service, Public Cloud, Security, Server Based Computing (SBC), Storage, Hypervisors, GPU's, and the key initiatives for 2019. The goal of the survey is to get a clear view on how the industry is changing and to support all involved with valuable, independent, and unbiased research results based on actual and objective customer data.

The questions of this survey are both functional and technical and range from "What are the most important design goals set for this environment?", to "Which storage is used?", and "What is the most commonly used Operating System?"  In comparison to earlier surveys, questions this year have been highly optimized and simplified with the help of your feedback.

Please fill out the survey as soon as possible as it will close on March 31st of this year.  The results of the survey will be reported in a whitepaper that will be free for all (after registration) at and will be presented at leading industry events such as Microsoft Ignite, VMworld, Citrix Synergy, NVIDIA GTC, E2EVC and more.

Please give 15 minutes of your time and contribute to this initiative.  Data will be collected, processed and presented anonymously.  And if helping the community with your expertise isn't enough, they will be giving away $150 in Amazon gift cards to three randomly selected participants to encourage you to participate even more.
