Runecast Analyzer v1.7 mitigates outages caused by VMware vSAN
Runecast Analyzer is a software proactive VMware management solution that installs as an OVA format virtual appliance. It combines the current VMware Knowledge Base articles, security standards and Runecast expertise to analyze the virtual infrastructure and expose potential issues and best practice violations, before they cause major outages.

Runecast Analyzer 1.7 delivers the following new features:

  • VMware vSAN support. Users can easily scan vSAN storages and see the list of detected potential issues. Runecast Analyzer will display issues related to the VMware Knowledge Base and vSAN Best Practices. Runecast Analyzer operates fully offline to scan and detect issues related to the vSAN storage.
  • Protection against Spectre and Meltdown chip vulnerabilities. This will allow users to continuously detect, patch and validate VMware systems that are impacted by chip flaws. Runecast Analyzer will always search and display these issues for free in trial mode.
  • New Virtualization Stack health summary overview. The Runecast Analyzer dashboard brings consolidated view of VMware virtualized infrastructure and its underlying components like storage, VMs, compute or management. It helps users to immediately understand what components have issues.

All existing Runecast customers will be able to seamlessly upgrade. If the Runecast Analyzer appliance is configured to download the latest update, the upgrade will be automatic. For the offline Runecast Analyzer instances customers have the option to download the latest version from the customer portal: and copy the file to the appliance with Runecast Analyzer for the update.
