Atomist Adds Kubernetes and Pivotal Cloud Foundry Support, Web Workspace to Its Software Delivery Machine

Today at QCon, Atomist, the software delivery automation company, announced the release of its latest version that adds Kubernetes and Pivotal Cloud Foundry support, as well as a rich web workspace to its existing Slack and API interfaces. The company also announced a reference implementation of its Software Delivery Machine that customers can use and extend to suit their own software delivery processes.

"Software development is a team sport," said Atomist co-founder and CEO Rod Johnson. "There's no such thing as a 10x engineer, but there are 10x teams. Atomist is a shortcut to getting your team there."

Instead of spending months custom-building complex, in-house deployment systems themselves, customers can use the host of advanced automation capabilities that Atomist provides out of the box. With its rich automation API, Atomist helps teams collaborate at scale in ways that are either difficult, or impossible, without it.

"Simply knowing what's going on across large development teams with many services is hard enough," said Johnson. "With Atomist, you get the information you need quickly and easily, but we don't stop there. You can immediately take appropriate action right there where you already are. You can merge pull requests, deploy, promote to production, restart services, even upgrade versions of Spring across dozens of projects with a single click. And you don't need to jump around between a dozen different interfaces to do it."

Developers can spend more time in the zone, getting productive work done, instead of hunting around simply trying to understand what's happening. Did my code deploy successfully? Is the new feature live in production? Did anything go wrong, and where? What do I need to fix next?

The Software Delivery Machine reference implementation is a ready-to-use blueprint for delivering services to Kubernetes and Pivotal Cloud Foundry. It addresses all phases from project creation to deployment. Teams can customize and extend the blueprint to suit their specific needs by using the JavaScript/TypeScript programming model and GraphQL API.

Atomist provides the leverage that modern software teams need to deploy modern software at scale.
