Reliam and Stratalux Merge to Strengthen Leadership in Consulting and Managed Services for Public Cloud Platforms
Reliam LLC (Reliam), a consulting and managed services provider for public cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, and Great Hill Partners, the Boston-headquartered growth capital firm focused on investments in high growth, mid-market technology companies, today announced the acquisition of AWS consulting and managed services provider Stratalux. Both Reliam and Stratalux are leading Los Angeles-based cloud services companies, acutely focused on enabling businesses to successfully transform and optimize their cloud strategy and operations.

The combined business will boast more than 100 mid-market and enterprise customers across industries including media and entertainment, mobile games, digital media, marketing, ecommerce, and software-as-a-service. Specializations and competencies of the combined expert cloud team will include cloud strategy consulting, migrations, cloud architecture, solution design, security and governance, cost optimization, DevOps implementation, application performance management, and 24/7 managed services and support for a wide range of workloads running on the cloud worldwide.

The transaction was funded through an add-on investment into the parent platform company by Great Hill Partners, which made an initial investment in Reliam in November 2017.

The Stratalux culture, technical talent, and depth of customers across industries - together with its customer-focused approach to delivering high value cloud consulting and managed services - makes it a particularly strong fit for Great Hill Partners and Reliam. The companies have each grown successfully through strong customer referrals fueled by their service as trusted advisors to organizations needing to confidently leverage cloud platforms to transform and grow their business. Combined services will deliver customers greater cost efficiencies, more flexibility, faster product development, and rapid scalability by optimizing cloud operations and architecture.

With the integration of Stratalux, Reliam adds significant headcount - particularly of AWS-certified cloud and DevOps engineers and solution architects. The deal will further enable Reliam to strengthen its partnership with AWS throughout 2018 and continue to accelerate the adoption of the AWS Cloud for customers worldwide.

"We have been impressed with Stratalux's successes in the AWS cloud services ecosystem, and our teams are really excited to be joining forces," said Simon Anderson, CEO, Reliam. "Our combined team and expert insights into how best to migrate or run apps and workloads on AWS - and then execute continuous integration of software and performant management of data - will enable our customers to rapidly leverage the latest innovations in cloud computing services including serverless computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning."

"We've long viewed Reliam as a respected colleague that approaches cloud consulting and managed services with the same dedication and customer-centric viewpoint as we do," said Jeremy Przygode, CEO & Founder of Stratalux, who will continue on as the combined companies' President, Media & Entertainment, and become a member of the board of directors. "We really look forward to combining our talents and capabilities, as we grow together to improve on the cloud-centric advantages we deliver for customers."

"Reliam and Stratalux are a particularly complementary pair of businesses, and the combination of these companies will add up to more than the sum of its parts," said Drew Loucks, Principal at Great Hill Partners. "We're eager to witness all that this highly capable combined organization accomplishes in the rapidly growing cloud managed services space."
