Infinio Systems, the leading provider of software-based storage acceleration for VMware, announced the release of version 3.4 of Infinio Accelerator software. With this release, Infinio becomes the first caching vendor to achieve VMware Ready certification on vSphere 6.7 for VMFS, NFS, vSAN, and VVols. This version of Infinio Accelerator is the highest performing ever released, with enhancements to SSD cache performance, and to memory utilization in VDI environments. An earlier update to Infinio Accelerator had included updates that addressed the security threats introduced by Spectre and Meltdown; these fixes are also included in 3.4.

It is also what enabled us to respond so quickly to Spectre and Meltdown with a certified version of our product.” Infinio was an early development partner with VMware on VAIO (vSphere APIs for I/O filtering), and Infinio Accelerator has been built on this platform since 2016. Adds Linnell, “We’re pleased that our having VAIO-based software enables customers to get access to the newest features and enhancements from VMware without having to sacrifice the performance they’ve come to rely on from Infinio.”
This release of Infinio Accelerator 3.4 is just one of several milestones for the company in 2018 thus far. The first quarter of 2018 marked another quarter of explosive Y/Y growth. Infinio also published its first round of performance data on Intel’s 3D XPoint Optane cards. Finally, during this quarter, Infinio welcomed Exertis to their partner program to provide distribution in Europe, and executed its semi-annual storage survey, posting results in February.
