Akimbi Posts Customer Wins in EMEA and APAC Within a Month of Opening These Regions

Quoting from their press release:

Akimbi Systems, the global leader in Virtual Lab Automation software, has expanded its customer roster with two international companies: ALG Software, a leading ISV in the United Kingdom; and WorleyParsons, a leading global player in the energy and resources market with corporate headquarters in Australia. Both companies are implementing the Akimbi Slingshot Virtual Lab Automation System to reduce IT costs and solve critical problems for their enterprise application development teams and the IT organizations that support them.

"We believe the rapid acquisition of these new customers -- which occurred just three weeks after our announced expansion into EMEA and APAC -- is an indicator of the pent-up demand for Akimbi Slingshot in these territories, and provides early validation of our decision to aggressively penetrate markets outside of North America," said James Phillips, Akimbi Systems CEO. "We are extremely pleased with the early achievements of our recently appointed leadership team and channel partners in these regions."

Akimbi Slingshot leverages virtual machine technology from companies like VMware and Microsoft to automate the setup, capture and teardown of any number of complex software configurations, and makes them available to users on a self-service basis, saving time and accelerating application development processes -- even across geographically distributed teams. With Akimbi Slingshot, organizations can pool and share servers, storage and network equipment resources, lowering the server-to-staff ratio and reducing capital expenditures.

"Our operations are dispersed throughout 33 countries, and growing," said Vito Forte, CIO of WorleyParsons. "Until now it's been difficult leveraging knowledge and technology into all regions. Akimbi Slingshot allows us to construct isolated environments which mirror our production systems, enabling us to research, experiment and test scenarios with the click of a button."

"As a high-growth company and the leader in our category, ALG Software derives advantage from our ability to outpace the competition through innovation and accelerated product delivery -- without compromising quality," said David Parsons, senior vice president of product development for ALG Software. "Akimbi Slingshot fuels our ability to rapidly deliver high-quality software systems, enabling us to streamline our processes through self-service provisioning of test environments and automated capture of defect states. Further, Akimbi allows more efficient use and sharing of resources across the team, which we believe will result in significant cost savings."

In support of the company's strategy to promote Akimbi Slingshot exclusively through the channel, Akimbi has amassed a network of more than 25 distributors and resellers in EMEA and APAC. Through these partnerships, Akimbi is able to effectively market and sell on a broad scale, further accelerating the company's business momentum.

"The vast majority of companies in our existing client base face the painful challenges that Akimbi addresses, and are hungry for a solution like Akimbi Slingshot," said Przemek Radzikowski, managing director of Capitalhead, the Australian-based reseller that introduced the Akimbi Slingshot solution to WorleyParsons. "Akimbi's solution is enabling us to provide value very quickly and helps us differentiate ourselves as a trusted partner to our clients."
