They come from almost every region of Canada and they represent what some might call the most unlikely of industries. In any event, the success of Canada's fastest-growing young companies demands celebration. From trendy foam footwear designers, to natural medicine
distributors, to sellers of bison meat, the companies on the 7th annual PROFIT HOT 50 ranking of Canada's Emerging Growth Companies have proven that unlikely business sectors can produce fantastic growth. Unveiled today, the companies on the PROFIT HOT 50 are ranked by two-year percentage revenue growth.
Canada's Emerging Growth Companies have showed tremendous progress in a short period of time, averaging two-year revenue growth of 946%, with nine of the HOT 50 recording growth rates of 1,000% or more - and not one of them is in nanotech, biotech or even oil or gas.
"The PROFIT HOT 50 companies represent the ambition, sophistication and immense contributions of Canada's entrepreneurial sector," says editor Ian Portsmouth. "PROFIT is proud to celebrate the success of these businesses and to share their growth strategies."
Ranking at number 4 is virtualization's own PlateSpin Ltd. out of Toronto. With a two year revenue % of 4,781.
