VMware will not increase licensing cost with quad core CPUs

According to Richard Garsthagen's blog site, VMware plans to announce a new updated licensing policy, effective on November 1st, that defines a "processor" as having up to four cores.  This means, if you purchase a 2-way quad core CPU server, you will only need to purchase a 2 processor license from VMware.  This is important as Intel is expecting to launch their quad-core Xeon processor line (code named Clovertown) sometime in November.
