Mainline Joins Leostream Reseller Channel Program
Virtualization tools vendor Leostream ( today announced that Mainline Information Systems, one of IBM’s largest Premiere Business Partners, has joined Leostream’s channel partner program. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, Mainline ( will leverage Leostream’s Connection Broker application to provide a complete virtualized hosted client solution to complement the company’s expertise in delivering virtualization offerings and to capitalize on the rising demand for scalable, secure access control solutions in the market. Leostream’s Connection Broker provides controlled access to desktops that are running in virtual and physical machine environments.

“Leostream’s Hosted desktop solution combines a very good desktop management solution with an excellent end user experience,” said Bill Nemesi, Mainline's VP of System x Brand Management. “There is significant demand in the market for this type of solution, especially one that is quick to setup and deploy such as Leostream. We can then work with our customers to tailor it to their business processes.”

The Leostream Connection Broker controls access to desktop applications that are running in a virtual machine environment. Leostream's Connection Broker enhances the functionality of IBM's Virtualized Client Solution (VCS) with features such as remote desktop protocol management, desktop pooling, stickiness, thin client integration, as well as monitoring and reporting.

The Leostream Connection Broker is tightly integrated with VMware Infrastructure 3 and their Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Initiative. VMware ESX Server manages the virtual infrastructure while Leostream manages the desktops.

“Mainline has brought together all the keys pieces for a compelling solution to the most pressing problems with corporate desktops – data security, reliability, management, and total cost of ownership,” said David Crosbie, CEO of Leostream. “We add the switch within IBM’s VCS technology”.

Leostream’s Connection Broker simplifies the end-user experience by enabling single sign-on and auto sign-off from both Windows XP machines and thin clients such as the DevonIT 6020 or the Wyse S10. Users can simply enter their username and password and be immediately connected to the relevant remote Microsoft Windows XP desktop. The desktop itself can be dynamically assigned from a pool of resources and either remain permanently or be returned to the pool after use.

Connection Broker is also available as a Virtual Appliance. Additional information and free trials can be obtained from
