It will enable organisations operating large document repositories to replicate multi-server applications in a single virtual environment that delivers significant performance improvements and reduces hardware and support costs by around 50%.

AGAMBS uses virtualisation to replace or integrate with existing multiple application servers and create a highly flexible and dynamic IT infrastructure. Hardware resources are aggregated into logical resource pools and optimally allocated to applications running in virtual machines. In this virtual environment, resources can be dynamically assigned or reassigned to individual workloads without impacting end user services.

It also provides advanced business continuity protection at lower cost and delivers high availability for critical applications.
The requirement for hardware support is reduced as all applications that previously required separate servers are consolidated into a more flexible environment. This reduces outages such as hardware failures as well as reducing the requirement for network cabling. It also delivers higher levels of availability to users as configuration changes can be seamlessly and transparently carried out with less downtime. Further savings can be achieved as power requirements and heat output are both reduced.
Being encapsulated into files, it is possible to rapidly save, copy and provision a virtual machine whilst full systems can be moved in seconds from one physical server to another for zero-downtime maintenance and continuous workload consolidation. AGAMBS will also be able to build, load test and tune configurations offsite prior to deployment as well as enabling additional configurations to be quickly cloned for added resilience and the elimination of single points of failure.
