Scalent Systems, the leading provider of server infrastructure repurposing software for large enterprise data centers, and DataSynapse, a global provider of application virtualization software, today announced a comprehensive sales and technology partnership. Scalent will certify DataSynapse FabricServer™ on the Scalent Virtual Operating Environment (V/OE) platform and the two companies will collaborate in selling their joint solution. The partnership leverages synergies between the two companies’ offerings, increasing flexibility and efficiency at both the application level and the underlying data center infrastructure. With the joint solution, companies can now dynamically repurpose infrastructure resources according to application demand.
Today’s enterprise data centers face escalating costs stemming from server sprawl, fluctuating server utilization and rapidly changing operational demands. These challenges result in a lack of IT agility and efficiency and reduced bottom-line success. Scalent V/OE and DataSynapse FabricServer can meet all of these challenges – addressing the entire data center environment and not just the individual server “box.”
“Scalent is committed to providing greater reliability, responsiveness, flexibility and asset utilization to the infrastructure underlying enterprise data centers,” said Ben Linder, CEO of Scalent Systems, the leading provider of server infrastructure repurposing software for large enterprise data centers. “Critical to enterprise flexibility is to have equal reliability and performance at an application layer as well as at an infrastructure layer. It is a pleasure to partner with DataSynapse in this effort.”
DataSynapse FabricServer is an application virtualization and provisioning platform that creates a highly adaptive shared computing infrastructure for dynamic scaling of business-critical application deployments. Scalent V/OE enables data center operations owners to rapidly change entire systems and associated topologies – which servers are operating, what software is running on them and how they are connected to network and storage – without altering physical infrastructure. Scalent customers are able to dynamically distribute existing workloads on an as-needed basis, achieving compute power with ease and simplicity. The combined Scalent and DataSynapse solution extends this capability to the application layer based on business policy, ensuring that infrastructure resources are repurposed dynamically according to application demand.
“The combination of automation and virtualization technologies is compelling for enterprises looking to improve data center efficiency,” said Peter Lee, CEO of DataSynapse. “As DataSynapse distributes application services based on demand, Scalent V/OE intelligently activates and engages infrastructure resources as needed to preserve service levels.”
