JumpBox, introduces new applications and a public beta program for the JumpBox virtual appliance platform that vastly simplifies the installation and maintenance of Open Source server software.
"JumpBox is committed to taking the pain and hassle out of running linux-based Open Source software" says CEO Sean Tierney, "Responding to the feedback of our users and delivering user-driven enhancements is imperative and the beta program announced today enables us to do just that."
As part of the Beta program, JumpBox released an update to the previously available vTiger™ JumpBox and a new PunBB JumpBox. PunBB discussion forums is a lightweight yet powerful forum system that allows the moderator to easily host an online community discussion. These releases demonstrate the power of the JumpBox approach to software distribution. "Through the use of virtualization and the virtual appliance concept" says CTO Kimbro Staken, "a JumpBox is the fastest and simplest way to deploy and manage Open Source applications."
The vTiger™ update provides an upgrade to the latest version of vTiger™ (5.0.2) and the PunBB JumpBox delivers the PunBB software version 1.2.14. Along with the application updates, the new releases add enhancements to the JumpBox platform and have preliminary support for the JumpBox Assurance program which will begin testing in a few weeks.
