Ardence Unveils Significant Enhancements to Market-Leading RTX Software

Ardence, a Citrix company (Nasdaq:CTXS) and a leader in developing software platforms for the on-demand world, today announced the availability of version 7.1 of Ardence® RTX®, its market-leading real-time software solution.

RTX 7.1, with continued support of multi-core architectures, also includes support for IPv4 and IPv6 by incorporating the Fusion Networking Stack from Unicoi. Developed from the ground up for embedded systems, the Fusion Networking Stack is a scaleable, highly portable protocol solution written in 100% ANSI C language, and is processor, operating-system and compiler independent. With support for IPv6, the Fusion Networking Stack improves TCP transport algorithms and offers a device driver filter layer. Additionally, it provides a platform for next-generation Internet functionality, including support for real-time flows, provider selection, host mobility and end-to-end security.

“We are pleased that Ardence has chosen Unicoi’s Fusion Networking Stack to accelerate the development and deployment of their RTX product line,” said Greg Coonley, CEO of Unicoi Systems. “For over twenty years, the Fusion Networking Stack has set the standard for performance, reliability and stability. Ardence’s selection of Unicoi reflects the strength of our technology and our ongoing commitment to deliver products that improve productivity and speed time to market.”

RTX provides functionality that gives developers deterministic control of Windows-based systems that require a high level of performance and scalability. RTX allows developers to reduce system costs, improve reliability, speed the time to market and increase the performance of their applications.

Additional features introduced in RTX version 7.1 include:
- Support for Additional Network Cards
- Network Driver Wizard
- RTSS Object Viewer Enhancement
- Platform Evaluator Enhancements
- XP Embedded Support Enhancements

“The enhancements we’ve made to RTX continue to enable customers to design for where technology is going, not where it has been,” said Stephen Woodard, vice president, product line executive, embedded systems for Ardence. “By researching technology trends, listening to customer demands, and hiring the brightest minds in the industry, we’re ensuring that RTX provides the ultimate control solution for x86 platforms that run Windows.”

RTX is deployed widely in industrial automation, military and aerospace, simulation, robotics, test and measurement and medical devices. As a COTS-based software solution, RTX can enable the elimination of costly and aging proprietary hardware-based systems. Evaluation versions of RTX can be downloaded at no cost.
