Tech Data U.S. Adds PolyServe Virtualization
Tech Data Corporation today announced that its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division (AIS) will offer VARs (value-added resellers) a complete line of enterprise IT utility solutions, including server and storage consolidation, from PolyServe Inc. Designed for businesses with extensive database access and management requirements, PolyServes software solutions enable the consolidation of servers and storage to maximize data availability.

Virtualization and consolidation are key components of todays state-of-the-art data centers, said AIS Senior Vice President and General Manager, Pete Peterson. Through AIS, Tech Data is committed to providing VARs with access to the channels broadest array of virtualization and consolidation solutions. The addition of PolyServe complements our growing virtualization offering and enables VARs to deploy robust data center solutions that more efficiently manage all database applications and the servers and storage used to support them.

PolyServes solutions are ideally suited for organizations that rely on SQL and Oracle database servers for continuous access to critical information such as extensive customer or patient records. To minimize downtime and enhance database availability, PolyServe enables servers to simultaneously access a consolidated pool of shared storage. All applications, middleware, servers and storage can then be managed as a single, virtual system. Users can allocate applications to servers and storage as needed, and a users access to data is more reliable as PolyServe software automatically compensates if an application or server fails.

In addition to enhancing database availability, a data center running PolyServe software solutions provides end users with considerable cost savings.
