Egenera Inc., the data center virtualization company, today announced participation at the upcoming SAP Virtualization Week, June 19 - 21, 2007, at SAP Labs in Palo Alto, Calif.
John Striker, Egenera senior SAP Consultant, will present on June 20, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. PDT together with Bernd Herth from the SAP AG Value Prototyping / Center of Excellence (CoE): "Infrastructure Virtualization with the Egenera PAN Processing Area Network - Rapid System Provisioning and SAP Cloning on the Egenera® BladeFrame®." The SAP AG CoE is a global SAP lab to facilitate customer proof of concepts out of rapid prototyping hubs in Walldorf, Germany and around the world. The session will focus on how Egenera's architecture -- the Processing Area Network (PAN) -- provides a new way to virtualize data center infrastructure and enable rapid system provisioning and cloning of SAP® applications on Microsoft® Windows®.
By enabling a new paradigm for computing, the Egenera PAN delivers more agility, scalability, performance and availability for SAP solutions and enterprise services oriented implementations, while also reducing complexity, costs and time to production.
Participation at SAP Virtualization Week comes on the heels of the announcement that Egenera has extended its SAP certifications beyond Windows to encompass the Solaris™ 10 operating system on both Intel® Xeon® and AMD® processors. Egenera is an SAP Global Technology Partner, a distinction reserved for leading technology companies with significant market share in their industries.
