Virtual Iron Software Signs Four New Distribution Partners in Europe
Virtual Iron Software (, a provider of enterprise-class server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management software, today announced the signing of four new distribution partners in Europe. The agreements immediately expand the availability of Virtual Irons solutions to over five hundred new reseller partners across Europe and open up the market for server virtualization and management with an affordable alternative to existing proprietary solutions.

Virtual Irons new European distribution partners are:

Virtual Iron provides enterprise-class server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management capabilities at one-fifth the cost of comparable alternatives. The company has adopted a 100% channel distribution strategy that maximizes both product and services opportunities for its partners. This affords value-added resellers the opportunity to deliver complete solutions to their customers that include servers, SAN, storage, software and professional services for the same cost that some companies charge for software licenses only. Some of the typical reseller partner services and consulting engagements driven by Virtual Iron include data center assessments, physical to virtual migration, business continuity planning, capacity planning and utilization, implementation and deployment, policy-based automation development and various managed services.

Many of our resellers are looking for alternative virtualization solutions to offer their customers and cost is a big factor, said Mark Lardner, managing director of AppSpeed Distribution, Ltd. There is significant demand for choice out there in the market and Virtual Iron is really the first viable alternative. They combine affordable pricing with enterprise-class performance. Thats a strong value proposition that appeals to both our reseller partners and their end-user customers.

The market for virtualization is booming, but software licenses for existing solutions are often more expensive than the underlying server hardware, said Janos Kurel, vice president at Avnet Partner Solutions EMEA. We are proud to offer Virtual Irons enterprise-class solutions at one-fifth the cost of comparable alternatives. Server virtualization is now affordable and this opens up a whole new market segment for our channel partners.

Virtual Iron fundamentally changes the price/value equation for server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management, said Yuri Pasea, chairman and founder of Centia. We see tremendous demand in the market and can recommend and distribute Virtual Iron with great confidence in its performance and reliability.

Our business partners must be able to offer different capabilities and solutions based on their end-user customers needs, said Magnus Nambord, Business Developer, at Trigono. Virtual Iron provides our resellers with a production-ready solution that fully leverages their expertise while opening up a whole new segment of the market for their services at the same time.

The server virtualization market is growing at 60% per year according to IDC, but user adoption, only at 3-5% today, has been hindered by the high price and complexity of available solutions. Virtual Iron addresses this gap by providing enterprise-class virtualization and management capabilities at a fraction of the cost. The platform combines an industry standard hypervisor with advanced virtualization services and policy-based management and takes full advantage of new hardwareassisted virtualization (Intel VT and AMD-V) on servers to deliver near native performance. Unlike other virtualization solutions, Virtual Iron requires no installation or management of software on physical servers, further simplifying installation and data center operations.

By reducing the cost and complexity of production-ready virtualization and management, Virtual Iron and its distributor and reseller partners are driving mainstream adoption across the European market, said Jeff Melvin, senior vice president worldwide sales and field operations for Virtual Iron. Each of our distributors has a strong presence in their region and deep expertise in virtualization and IT infrastructure management. Were pleased they have selected Virtual Iron as their preferred solution for server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management.
