Ericom Announces IBM BladeCenter Virtualization Solution
Ericom Software, a leading provider of Enterprise-Wide Application Access solutions, today announces the availability of its next-generation desktop virtualization solution for IBM BladeCenter, PowerTerm WebConnect DeskView.

Ericom's VDI connection broker, PowerTerm WebConnect DeskView, provides secure access to virtual Windows and Linux desktops running within virtualized environments on IBM BladeCenter. With desktop virtualization, desktops are hosted and managed from a centralized location – reducing the cost and complexity of desktop management. Desktop virtualization empowers users with anywhere, anytime access to their desktops – providing organizations with a cost-effective solution to key business challenges, such as enabling remote access, reducing the cost of managing desktops, ensuring privacy of information, and facilitating business continuity and disaster recovery.

Eran Heyman, Ericom Founder and CEO, commented, "As an IBM Business Partner and member of blade.org, Ericom is excited to announce IBM BladeCenter support. By implementing Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect in conjunction with IBM BladeCenter, organizations will be able to leverage the benefits of desktop virtualization and reduce the cost and complexity of IT operations."

Blade computers – which integrate servers, storage, networking and applications into one system -- offer a design point that help reduce the proliferation of server "farms", large IT staffs to manage them and wasted energy resources.

"IBM continues to work collaboratively with the Blade.org community to accelerate the growth of blade server-based technologies and solutions for customers," said Dr. Tom Bradicich, fellow and vice president, IBM Systems and Technology Group. "We are pleased to be part of Ericom's virtual desktop deployment initiative to continue to help drive the development of server-hosted computing solutions for clients looking to move desktop and applications into the data center to improve IT efficiency."
