Furthering its innovation as a premier provider of next-generation virtualization solutions for enterprise data centers, 3Leaf SystemsTM (www.3leafsystems.com) today announced that well-known industry veteran B.V. Jagadeesh has joined the company as president and chief executive officer. Jagadeesh comes to 3Leaf with a proven record of successfully building and growing high-tech organizations. Jagadeesh succeeds Bob Quinn, who has served as CEO since founding the company in June 2004, and has led the company through its product development and launch phase. Quinn will continue his role as the company visionary, serving as chief technical officer and as chairman of the board of directors.
“During the past few years, up to our recent successful launch of the 3Leaf V-8000™ Virtual I/O Server, 3Leaf has developed innovative and proven solutions that allow our enterprise customers to truly harness the power of virtualization in the data center,” said Bob Quinn, 3Leaf Systems founder, chairman and chief technical officer. “The 3Leaf team, through hard work and focus, has developed the company to its current position of strength in the market and I’m delighted to have attracted such a strong executive as Jagadeesh. Jagadeesh, with a proven track record along with his industry relations and business expertise, will lead the company through the next level of growth, achieving operational excellence and sales execution.”
Jagadeesh joins 3Leaf from Citrix, where he was vice president and general manager of the Application Networking Group. Before Citrix, he was president and CEO of NetScaler, Inc., a privately held leader in high-performance application delivery systems. At NetScaler, Jagadeesh guided the company’s quarter-after-quarter growth until its successful acquisition by Citrix in 2005 for US$325 million.
Jagadeesh was also co-founder and CTO for Exodus Communications, a company that pioneered the concept of Internet Data Centers, and where he was instrumental in leading the company’s highly successful initial public offering (IPO). He left Exodus in August 2000 to become CEO of NetScaler. Jagadeesh has also held various management and engineering positions at Novell and 3Com.
“I am delighted to join 3Leaf at such an exciting stage in the growth of the company,” said Jagadeesh. “Joining 3Leaf was an obvious choice for me, not only because of the great potential within the server virtualization market, but, more specifically, because of 3Leaf’s unique approach to the on-demand data center issues. The company has brought together the right innovations at the right time to create a truly incredible value proposition for enterprise customers.”
“Having someone of Jagadeesh’s caliber and proven track record join the 3Leaf Systems team is a clear vote of confidence for the market and 3Leaf’s industry-leading server virtualization solutions,” said Alex Mendez, general partner, Storm Ventures. “With this strategic appointment, 3Leaf Systems is well positioned and poised to realize its market growth objectives.”
