VMware Partner Taps Adaptec Snap Server Storage Systems to Deliver Enteprise Virtualization Services
Adaptec, Inc., a global leader in trusted storage solutions, announced today that AccessFlow, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise virtualization solutions, and one of VMware's Premier Partners, has chosen the Snap Server(TM) by Adaptec line of network attached storage (NAS) systems as a key component in the company's VMware virtual infrastructure offerings. For AccessFlow customers with multiple remote sites, Snap Servers are unique in their ability to provide cost-effective storage for virtualization solutions.

AccessFlow has built a successful business around VMware technology, which is rapidly gaining popularity as a result of the many economic and high-availability advantages it provides. These advantages include consolidation and increased utilization rates, reduction in power and cooling costs, as well as improved management and automated IT processes for maximum availability, performance and scalability.

"Our customers are tired of pouring money into server hardware and the associated power and management costs, especially in their remote and branch locations," stated Steve Kaplan, president of AccessFlow. "A virtual infrastructure as an organizational platform not only for servers, but for storage, offers many economic advantages. Customer benefits include improved management, security and recoverability of their data. Snap Servers are a key component in that infrastructure."

Kaplan added, "In fact, we recently worked with a large retail grocery chain to design a VMware virtual infrastructure that would support their data center and over 140 retail outlets. We are deploying Snap Servers at all remote locations to ensure true high-availability and gigabit transfer speeds. The Snap Servers also provide quick installation and a high level of reliability that will drastically reduce their overall IT costs and eliminate the need for IT resources at individual stores."

Snap Servers deliver a comprehensive range of cost-effective storage systems that are integrated with powerful software applications, including distributed management, replication, and backup and restore for desktops, notebooks and servers, in order to meet the needs of distributed enterprises. From remote locations with Snap Server 110, 210 or 410 systems to the central office with its Snap Server 520 and 650, the product family has been designed to deliver a flexible and cost-effective solution that is right-sized for distributed enterprises, especially those that span multiple sites.

"We are delighted to be working with the team at AccessFlow. They are genuinely passionate about, and clearly experts in, IT virtualization, and equally enthusiastic about the many advantages Snap Servers can offer their customers in a virtualized storage environment," stated Don Chouinard, director of marketing, Storage Solutions Group at Adaptec. "Snap Servers used in a VMware environment to virtualize storage across multiple sites is an unbeatable solution when it comes to ease-of-use, cost-effectiveness, performance, and manageability."
