Neterion's Xframe 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapters Selected by Fujitsu for PRIMEQUEST Family of Servers
Neterion, Inc., the industry leader in 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) adapters for server and storage environments, announced that Neterion's Xframe® II 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter has been qualified and selected by Fujitsu Limited for its high-end PRIMEQUEST™ line of Itanium-based industry-standard servers. Xframe II is a member of the family of 10 GbE Xframe V-NIC™ adapters designed to provide virtualization functions at the I/O level.

"PRIMEQUEST is one of the world's most highly reliable server platforms and addresses mission critical applications in every major vertical market," said Mr. Takato Noda, General Manager of Mission Critical IA Server Development Department of Fujitsu Limited. "With end users constantly requiring increased performance from their servers, we are pleased that Neterion was able to meet our very demanding qualification process and will help us to meet the high performance requirements that customers have come to expect from Fujitsu."

The Xframe II adapter includes support for Microsoft Windows Server™, VMware, Red Hat and Novell SUSE Linux, among other environments.

"We are very proud to announce our selection by Fujitsu," stated Dave Zabrowski, president & CEO of Neterion. "10 Gigabit Ethernet boosts I/O performance to a new level and makes Fujitsu PRIMEQUEST a very competitive platform for I/O intensive, mission critical applications. The launch of a 10 Gigabit Ethernet option by a leading server vendor in Japan clearly indicates that this technology is gaining rapid traction worldwide, and is becoming a key enabler to server consolidation."

With the announcement of this agreement, Neterion now has OEM or distribution relationships with major server and storage vendors on a worldwide basis including Fujitsu, Hitachi, IBM, HP, EMC, Sun Microsystems, Cray and Silicon Graphics.

Hitachi High-Technologies, the exclusive distributor in Japan for the Neterion family of Xframe V-NIC 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapters and integrated circuits, played a key role in this new OEM selection.
