Lifeboat Distribution, an international specialty software distributor for virtualization and other technically sophisticated products, today announced that it had received certification as a VMware Authorized Consultant (VAC). As VMware
’s first distribution partner, Lifeboat has recruited and today services more than 300 VMware value added resellers, systems integrators, corporate resellers and consultants, who provide solutions based on Lifeboat
’s Virtualization World View
– an ecosystem of virtualization software from VMware and associated vendors.
“The Lifeboat Virtualization World View affords Lifeboat solution providers a focused portfolio of business opportunity, and compelling total virtualization solutions for their end-user customers,” said Dan Jamieson, vice president and general manager, Lifeboat Distribution. “VAC certification allows us to combine VMware’s best practices with our own to enable our solution providers to design and deliver unified, best-of-breed virtualization solutions.”
With the VAC certification, the company also introduced Lifeboat*Points – new incentives designed to leverage Lifeboat’s technical consulting and other services, to stimulate the growth of VMware ecosystem solutions. Jamieson continued, “Lifeboat*Points reward our solution providers for their sales of VMware and related virtualization World View software, allowing them to reinvest those rewards in Lifeboat consulting and other services that will help them further drive the growth of their virtualization businesses.” Lifeboat is making Lifeboat*Points available to members of its Lifeboat*Partners Program, which services the company’s leading software resellers.
Lifeboat’s Virtualization World View software ecosystem addresses customer needs for software development and test, server and workstation administration, security, storage management, performance monitoring and management, and business continuity and disaster recovery.
