VirtualLogix Wins "Best of Show" Award by AdvancedTCA Summit
VirtualLogix, Inc., the global leader in Real-Time Virtualization, today announced that The AdvancedTCA® Summit has awarded VirtualLogix VLX for Network Infrastructure 2.0 the first-ever recipient of its Best of Show Award in the category of Best Software Product. The AdvancedTCA Summit Best of Show Award recognizes innovative products that demonstrate central use of Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA®) and offer significant technical and business benefits. The award was presented on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the AdvancedTCA Summit in Santa Clara, California.

As the telecommunications industry rapidly adopts ATCA, developers increasingly look to real-time virtualization technology to improve performance while reducing costs, and power consumption in their next generation network equipment design, said Mark Milligan, Vice President of Marketing at VirtualLogix, Inc. By complying with ATCA's standard hardware platform for communications, our real-time virtualization product, VLX for Network Infrastructure, helps advance the way telecommunication companies adopt next generation services. We are proud to be recognized as the first recipient of the AdvancedTCA Summit Best of Show Award for Best Software Product.

We set high standards for our first annual AdvancedTCA Summit Best of Show Award program, and while we received an impressive collection of worthy candidates, the distinctiveness of VirtualLogixs product set it apart, said Ernie Bergstrom, Chairman of the AdvancedTCA Summit, as well as, the Awards Program Chair. As winner of Best Software Product VirtualLogixs VLX for Network Infrastructure demonstrates the kind of innovative, notable technology that will have significant impact on the telecommunications industry in the coming years.

By the end of 2007, IDC predicts half of the network equipment provider (NEP) community to adopt advanced telecommunications computer architecture (ATCA). Furthermore, they anticipate more than 900% growth by 2011 in ATCA adoption. With high performance virtualization software VirtualLogix is well-positioned to take advantage of this opportunity. VLX for Network Infrastructure version 2.0 delivers support for the most advanced ATCA processor blades or AdvancedMC (AMC) processor modules equipped with Intel dual-core processors.

VLX for Network Infrastructure enables support of multiple heterogeneous operating systems onto a shared ATCA processor blade with no porting effort, allowing users to run commercial or proprietary RTOS and Linux® simultaneously, resulting in optimized performance and lowered power consumption. Developers can take advantage of the superior scalability and density of these subsystems while receiving a substantial performance boost. With VLX for Network Infrastructure, manufacturers can deploy real-time virtualization technology anywhere Linux or Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) are used, or anywhere high throughput is needed while realizing the benefit of reduced bill-of-materials costs, optimized performance and lowered power consumption.
