VMware Establishes Regional Asia South Headquarters in Singapore

VMware, Inc., announced the opening of its new Asia South headquarters in Singapore.

The new office, located at Suntec City Tower 4 within Singapore’s prime business district, features training rooms for partners and customers as well as a state-of-the-art demo facility housing the latest virtualization and server technologies from partners such as AMD, EMC, HP, IBM, and Intel.

“Our demo facility is designed to help our customers experience VMware products and solutions working within the ecosystem of partners,” said Lee Poh Wah, Regional Consulting Manager, Asia South, VMware. “We can demonstrate VMware’s latest products such as VMware Infrastructure 3, VirtualCenter, VMotion, Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), High Availability (HA), and VMware Consolidated Backup as well as Virtual Desktop Manager and Lab Manager. VMware Infrastructure 3 streamlines the management of IT environments through greater levels of automation, increases overall infrastructure availability and boosts performance for enterprise workloads. Working with our partners and their products, we demonstrate optimized solutions of virtualization for every business large or small.”

VMware first established a presence in Singapore in October 2003. Since then, its staff strength has grown over 10 fold in the last four years. Today, VMware Asia South has brought the benefits of virtualization to hundreds of enterprises, institutions, and governments throughout the region.

“The establishment of a permanent office and regional headquarters in Singapore shows our continued commitment to the country and Asia South region,” said Jim Lenox, General Manager, Asia South, VMware, “We have built this office with expansion plans in mind and hiring great people is absolutely crucial to that goal. We have been very fortunate with the high caliber talent we find in Singapore which helps our Singapore office serve as major regional hub of activity and expertise in the Asia Pacific region.”

Globally, VMware’s customer base for its server solutions has grown to include 20,000 organizations of all sizes across numerous industries. VMware has provided customers with solutions to everyday data center problems such as Infrastructure Optimization, Business Continuity, Software Lifecycle Management and Desktop Management leading to improvements in server provisioning, power and energy conservation, and providing drastic cost savings, increased flexibility and agility.

Earlier this week VMware reported record revenues and profits for the third quarter of 2007. With quarterly revenues of $358 million, VMware’s 12-month trailing revenues exceeded $1B for the first time.
