Entuity
™ today announced that partners, service providers, and enterprise customers are leveraging new integration and automation capabilities in the Eye of the Storm
® (EYE) software suite to deliver broader BSM solutions both more efficiently and cost-effectively. EYE 2008 once again has set the standard for all commercial network management solutions by delivering functionality that ties to complementary management solutions, broader reporting and analysis solutions, and provides visibility to popular technologies being increasingly used today at the network
’s edge.
“Virtually every company that we work with is trying to improve the efficiency or eliminate the manual processes in their business systems. Even companies that have implemented so called ‘end-to-end’ solutions are not achieving the results they originally expected,” said John Ryan, vice president of business development at NextLink Technologies, a network and security solution provider headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. “Using the new data export functionality in EYE 2008 we can easily integrate independent data sets from any of EYE’s extensive infrastructure details with the particular business reporting, charting, or analysis applications already in use by the customer enabling more informed and cost-effective business decisions.”
EYE 2008 features several enhancements targeted at helping businesses to enable varying levels of mash-ups, integrations, and automation using methodologies desired by IT professional and business users alike including:
- Data Export Server – EYE 2008 delivers a new level of openness and data accessibility to accelerate and simplify business reporting, corporate dashboards, or mash-ups, using the display, charting, or analysis tools of choice. With their data independent of the authoring application, users throughout the enterprise are free to empower more informed and expedient decisions, representing another proof point of how Entuity is delivering on its commitment to be the most open network management solution in the market.
- EYE Wireless Module – Extends EYE’s current strength in management of the wired edge of corporate switched LANs to include Aruba wireless devices. Provides a unified management environment to improve capacity planning and troubleshooting of mixed networks along with historical documentation to ensure security compliance and reduce the risk.
- EYE Power over Ethernet (PoE) Module – Updated to add support for Microsemi PoE midspan injectors, EYE 2008 improves capacity planning and troubleshooting of converged networks. Integration to the device’s inbuilt web-based configuration utility further automates device management and reduces maintenance costs.
- EYE Firewall Module – EYE 2008 reduces the management burden for enterprises and service providers with heterogeneous networks from various hardware providers. Adding support for NetContinuum firewalls, a unified management approach with detailed inventory, operational, and event information keeps a range of firewall at optimum performance.
EYE 2008 provides new modules and functionality that offer: improved administration and control, streamlined IT service delivery, and advanced integration and automation to power the business. Eye of the Storm 2008 runs on Microsoft Windows 2003, Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux, and VMware ESX environments.
