’s most robust data center solutions offerings by announcing a distribution agreement with VMware, Inc., the global leader in virtualization solutions from the desktop to the data center. Through AIS, Tech Data continues to lead in supporting value-added resellers (VARs) implementing virtualization solutions to enhance IT operations for end users ranging from small businesses to large enterprises.

The addition of the entire VMware product suite solidifies Tech Data as the leader in the channel for virtualization solutions. Tech Data provides VARs with access to a broad array of virtualization solutions backed by trained sales and technical support. The distributor has trained more than 200 inside and field sales representatives, product managers and systems engineers, who are either certified VMware Sales Professionals (VSPs) or VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs). The company plans to more than double the number of VSPs and VCPs as it trains additional resources in the coming months.

Today’s announcement enables Tech Data to distribute VMware’s entire line of solutions for desktop and data center virtualization, including the VMware Infrastructure suite, VMware VirtualCenter, VMware Capacity Planner, VMware Lab Manager, VMware Workstation, VMware ACE, VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and VMware Fusion.
