VirtualLogix Presenting the Advantages of Virtualization Technology in Real-Time Digital Signal Processing Systems

VirtualLogix:

WHAT:

Dave Beal, director of product management for VirtualLogix, Inc., the global leader in Real-Time VirtualizationTM, is presenting the business and technical advantages virtualization delivers to DSP environments at the TI Developer Conference Worldwide 2008. In the first of two discussions, Beal will provide an overview of virtualization for TI's DaVinciTM processors including use cases for virtualization of the processor's DSP on single and multi-core DaVinciTM processors (DM643x and DM644x) as well as OMAP 34xx devices. In his second presentation, Beal is providing an overview of the use of multi-core TI DSP platforms (TCI6487/8) to perform control plane and data plane functions within wireless base stations and IMS solutions for equipment consolidation, reduced deployment and operating costs and for increased signal processing density.

VirtualLogix will be demonstrating at Booth #202 how VLX Real-Time Virtualization software delivers lowered bill of materials, power consumption and deployment while simultaneously enhancing signal processing density, system flexibility, scalability and configurability.

WHEN:

Tuesday, February 26th - Thursday, February 28th

"Virtualization for Advanced Solutions on DaVinci Digital Media Processors"--Tuesday, February 26, 11:00 a.m. (CT)

"Using Multicore TI DSPs for Control and Data Plane Functions in Communications Infrastructure and Voice Systems"--Wednesday, February 27, 4:00 p.m. (CT)

WHERE:

TI Developer Conference Worldwide 2008
Dallas, Texas

VirtualLogix Booth # 202

WHY:

Today's network infrastructure systems may be comprised of DSPs dedicated to data plane functions, and general purpose processors for control-plane functions. VirtualLogix VLX brings the feature richness of Linux together with the real-time capabilities of TI DSP/BIOSTM. Using VirtualLogix VLX, VirtualLogix Linux, and DSP/BIOS on TI DSPs, communications infrastructure manufacturers can design DSP-only systems providing both data transcoding and control functions resulting in reduced bill of materials and total cost of ownership, while simplifying the development process. Additionally, the ability to integrate control-plane processor functions into a DSP platform becomes critically important as the industry further adopts multicore DSPs.

Dave Beal, director of product management for VirtualLogix, will be available during the conference for press interviews. To schedule a briefing or a teleconference before or after the event, please contact virtuallogix@schwartz-pr.com.
