Fortisphere, a provider of enterprise virtual machine lifecycle management software, today announced that it has joined the Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF
®) to help develop and define open standards for system virtualization management. By participating in the development of open DMTF standards, the company is helping to ensure that its customers and partners have the ability to quickly integrate the Fortisphere suite of virtual machine management solutions into any enterprise environment.
Founded in 1992, DMTF is the industry organization leading the development of management standards and integration technology for enterprise and Internet environments. For the last 16 years, DMTF management technologies have enabled management interoperability among multi-vendor systems, tools and solutions within the enterprise. By deploying solutions that support DMTF standards, IT managers can choose a mix of systems and solutions that best meet their users’ needs. DMTF recently announced the release of a new standard to simplify and reduce the cost of managing virtualized infrastructures across a data center.
“The explosive growth of enterprise virtual machine environments has fueled the need for effective virtualization management tools,” said Winston Bumpus, DMTF president. “While many vendors are rushing to address these management concerns, enterprise customers require open integration standards to best architect a solution that meets their needs. As virtual machine management providers like Fortisphere embrace DMTF interoperability standards, organizations will be able to better harness the great benefits of virtualization.”
