Solarflare and Delta Networks Partner to Deliver Standards-Compliant 10 Gigabit Ethernet
Solarflare Communications, developer of leading standards-compliant 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) silicon, today announced its partnership with Delta Networks, an industry-leading original design manufacturer of network communication equipment. Through this relationship high-performance, low-power solutions based on Solarflare® 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 10GBASE-T technology are being manufactured for global network original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Standards-compliant 10GbE technology is the best way to address ever-increasing bandwidth demands placed on networks by advanced applications, said Bruce Tolley, vice president of marketing for Solarflare. Were proud to be working with first-class partners, such as Delta Networks, to help meet the growing need among OEMs for robust 10 Gigabit Ethernet products that will drive the proliferation of next-generation applications such as server virtualization and streaming rich-media on demand to millions.

10GBASE-T is the physical layer technology that supports 10GbE operation over existing and new network cabling infrastructures. Solarflare was the first company to bring standards-compliant 10GBASE-T silicon and reference designs to market. Delta Networks will now build high-performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet server adapters, storage appliances and multi-port 10GbE switches based on Solarflare technology. Over the next 12 to 15 months, these products will ship from leading networking equipment vendors and server OEMs.

With our extensive background in developing products to support the networking and data communications technology market, we understand that quick time-to-market for delivering the next level of product is key, said Sam Liang, chairman and CEO of Delta Networks. Working in conjunction with Solarflare, we are ready to deliver advanced solutions based on proven technology that utilizes existing infrastructure to deliver 10 Gigabit performance.
