ScaleMP Inc., the leader in virtualization for high-end computing, today announced an enhancement of its vSMP Foundation™ virtualization platform to support the Mellanox® (NASDAQ: MLNX) (TASE: MLNX) ConnectX® 40Gb/s (QDR) InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter (HCA). Both vSMP Foundation Embedded, targeting integrated system solution providers, and vSMP Foundation Standalone, a software-only product used to build the industry’s most affordable four-socket solution, are now supporting Mellanox ConnectX adapters.

ScaleMP’s vSMP Foundation aggregates multiple industry-standard x86 servers into one powerful high-end system. By using virtualization to create high-end symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) computers from off-the-shelf x86 systems, the ScaleMP solution reduces management costs of clusters, and provides up to 1 TB RAM for large memory application and shared memory system, supporting up to 128 cores.
