Tech Data's AIS Division Partners with SteelEye Technology
The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division of Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) today expanded its support for value-added resellers (VARs) deploying business continuity and disaster recovery solutions. The company announced that it is the exclusive distributor for SteelEye Technology Inc., offering VARs access to the vendors data replication software for physical and virtual servers running Windows or Linux operating systems. Additionally, next months AIS Partner Summit will help educate VARs on how server virtualization can enable them to deliver more efficient and profitable business continuity solutions.

The AIS Division supports the channels most robust data center solutions offerings, comprising server, storage and virtualization products from industry leaders like Fujitsu, HP, IBM and VMware, said Director, Product Marketing, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Amy Belcher. Our new partnership with SteelEye further strengthens our business continuity practice, especially for data centers utilizing Linux and virtualization software. We are enabling VARs to deliver assurance to their customers that critical data is always up to date and will not be lost in the event of natural disaster or other systems failure.

SteelEye is a leading provider of disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. Its products provide multi-platform functionality to deliver continuous access to business-critical information, and includes support for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server. Through AIS, Tech Data will distribute the entire line of SteelEye products, including:

Comprehensive Data Protection

Through specialized sales and technical support, AIS assists VARs developing solutions that protect business-critical data such as CRM and ERP databases. In case of natural disaster, local systems outage or other disruption, these business continuity solutions can trigger automatic failover capabilities providing access to designated backup servers and storage devices, which minimizes downtime and potential business disruption. For use in both physical and virtual data center environments, these solutions enable users to centrally manage all network-attached storage devices in remote locations or satellite offices to maximize storage capacity and data availability.

During Tech Datas AIS Partner Summit July 16-17 at the distributors Clearwater headquarters, VARs, vendors, and AIS sales and technical representatives will explore the latest virtualization trends and their impact on a wide range of data center operations, including business continuity.
