Desktone Executive to Explore the Future of Virtual Desktops at 2008 Virtualization Conference & Expo
Desktone, Inc., provider of the first solution that enables virtual desktops as a service, today announced that Julian Weinstock, VP of product management, will be a featured speaker at SYS-CON 2008 Virtualization Conference & Expo on June 23rd, 2008 in New York City. Weinstock will explore the technology trends, business scenarios and economic imperatives that are shaping the future of virtual desktops, enabling new delivery and consumption models.

Im honored to be selected to present at this important conference, said Weinstock. Virtual desktop computing offers tremendous potential for reducing desktop costs, improving manageability and enhancing security. However, realizing the full promise of virtual computing can be challenging. I look forward to discussing the emerging models that enterprises can adopt to achieve significant business benefits from this transformative technology.

As server virtualization continues to gain deeper traction and provide benefits beyond server consolidation, desktop virtualization is widely expected to follow a similar trajectory and address many of the challenges associated with enterprise desktops. Virtual desktops hold the promise of increased business agility at reduced complexity and cost, while providing high fidelity user experience at a lower carbon footprint. During Weinstocks presentation, The Future of Virtual Desktops: Turning Rich Desktops into a Ubiquitous Service, on June 23rd at 2:30pm, he will discuss how virtual desktops can go beyond the sum of the virtual parts to deliver true business value.

Weinstock is responsible for Desktones product strategy and execution. The products under his direction enable the delivery of virtual desktops as a managed service, simplifying IT and reducing the cost of delivering enterprise desktops. Weinstock joined Desktone in 2007 from Microsoft. For two decades he has served in senior product strategy and technology roles at companies including Softricity, OpenMarket and KLA-Tencor, with a track record of bringing innovative products to the market. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in EE/CS from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
