Virtualization Congress - Inaugural Event Covering Hardware, OS and Application Virtualization

Alessandro Perilli, founder of, is launching an inaugural virtualization event called the Virtualization Congress, taking place in EMEA - in London at the ExCel London, Conference Centre - October 15-16, 2008.

Perilli said he wanted "to shape an event with unique characteristics, different from the typical conference, which can bridge the gap between innovation and implementation in a more effective way."  To describe the event and its differences, he states:

  • First and foremost, the Virtualization Congress will highlight an independent stage.
On stage you will see competition. We’ve invited the entire virtualization industry to come to London and demonstrate which solution is the best and why.
  • Secondly, the Virtualization Congress will highlight real products.
On stage you will see real products. We’ve asked the virtualization vendors to present a case study, with its goals and its challenges, and to show how their solutions can address those challenges.
  • Thirdly, the Virtualization Congress will highlight cutting edge technologies.
On stage you will see new products and technologies presented on stage for the first time.  Each conference day, a different company will unveil what it is bringing to the market and how it works.
  • Last but not least, the Virtualization Congress will highlight the virtualization network.
Around the stage you will meet the entire industry ecosystem. From vendors to system integrators, from customers to virtualization superstars, we’ve invited all the people that are changing forever the way we deliver IT infrastructures.

The Congress already has an impressive lineup of speakers.

  • Paul Ghostine is Vice President and General Manager of the Provision Networks Division of Quest Software.
  • Mark Russinovich is a Technical Fellow in the Platform and Services Division at Microsoft.
