Free Configuration Reporting Utility for Citrix XenApp from XTS

XTS, headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan area, is a Citrix Ready Partner and a VMware Technology Alliance Partner.  The company has long been a leading provider of enterprise reporting and analytics software for the planning and management of Citrix and other virtualization platforms.  They have provided Citrix environments with information such as capacity planning, security audits, implementation of charge-back systems and analyzing software license requirements.

Now, XTS has just released their Configuration Report Generator utility that works with XenApp 4.x, any edition.  And best of all, the company is making this solution a free download via a fully functional virtual machine.

The company is bringing their flexible interface to the Citrix data store in order to make it really easy to use.  Leveraging the XTS advanced filters, Citrix customers can generate the configuration reports they need when they need them.  In addition to the free configuration reporting utility, the VM also includes a demo of the company's full Introspect product which provides usage reporting and much needed analysis.

"Introspect has been a great tool for helping us optimize our Citrix farm to meet changing business needs throughout the year," stated Bryan Koch, director of infrastructure at Clifton Gunderson LLP. "Configuration reporting is a welcome addition to Introspect as it helps us easily document our farm with just a few mouse clicks which is very useful in a dynamic Citrix environment like ours," continued Koch.

"We are making the Introspect configuration reporting utility available at no cost for a limited time to introduce our turnkey solution for documenting, auditing and even troubleshooting XenApp environments to Citrix administrators and architects around the world," said Eric Spiegel, CEO of XTS. "This is just another step for XTS in our quest to provide the most advanced analysis capabilities for Citrix and other virtualization platforms."

Specific benefits of the free configuration reports include.

  • Document Citrix environmental configurations to create baselines for future troubleshooting, disaster recovery or audit requirements.
  • Verify baselines for migrations to XenApp 4.5.
  • Track Citrix hotfixes to ensure consistency across servers
  • Attain more in-depth security insight with user/application assignment reports, leveraging integration with Active Directory.
  • Gain immediate visibility into risks that might exist in their Citrix environment due to misconfigurations

Anyone can download the free fully functional virtual machine download.
