Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that it will demonstrate a development version of its new VPN-1® Virtual Edition (VE) security gateway integrated with VMware’s forthcoming VMsafe API. The sneak peak of VPN-1® VE certified on VMware and using VMsafe will be part of a joint VMware and Check Point security session at VMworld on Thursday, September 18th at 9:00AM.
“Most companies aren’t securing virtual servers effectively today because it’s difficulty to implement and manage,” said Oded Gonda, vice president of network security at Check Point. “Our VPN-1 VE product simplifies the process of securing virtual environments, making it just as easy to administrate one firewall as it is to manage thousands of firewalls.”
Check Point will provide a live demonstration of the security solution running inside the vSwitch, inspecting and protecting traffic between every VM on a VMware ESX server. The integrated firewall protects traffic and provides access control between virtual machines on the same subnet, eliminating the threat of a compromised virtual machine gaining access to other virtual machines on the same subnet. The demonstration of VPN-1 VE utilizing VMsafe can also be seen upon request at Check Point’s VMworld booth, #666.
