Virtutech, Inc., the leader in
virtualized software development (VSD) solutions for electronic systems, today announced that its Simics
® simulator platform was awarded Best Solution at the Freescale Technology Forum in Japan held September 10 in Tokyo. Simics was selected out of 37 vendors attending the forum. The product was selected by the more than 790 embedded designers attending the show.
The Simics VSD platform is a high performance full-system simulator that enables engineers to develop, debug, test and run their entire software application stack on a virtual representation of their target hardware named virtual platform. Simics delivers the speed and scalability necessary to enable software development well ahead of hardware availability and throughout the development cycle. Members of the Freescale ecosystem are already realizing quality, productivity and time-to-market advantages.
“The attendees at the Freescale Technology Forum Japan awarded Virtutech Simics ‘Best Solution’ because of its role in helping to speed and simplify embedded multicore development,” said Kamal Khouri, NSD ecosystem solutions manager for Freescale Semiconductor. “As Freescale processors become more sophisticated, the Simics virtual platform helps to ensure that software development keeps pace with silicon design and that our partners realize much quicker time-to-market for their products.”
“We are very pleased to receive this award,” said Michel Genard, vice president of marketing, Virtutech, Inc. “Virtualized programming environments are providing significant insight into multicore architectures and this award demonstrates that design engineers appreciate the insight.”
