Expand Networks Launches Tailored WAN Optimization Trade Up/Competitive Buy Back Program to Help Renew ROI on Existing Infrastructure

WAN Optimization has evolved from a tactical luxury to a strategic imperative as organizations realize the multiple business benefits the technology can provide. As companies deploy advanced technologies, changing WAN traffic flows and application behavior, Expand Networks, www.expand.com a leading provider of application acceleration solutions over the Wide Area Network (WAN) believes its WAN Optimization technology is best positioned to support the broader set of requirements organizations have.

IT initiatives such as Satellite, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Virtualization, Server-Based Computing and Server Consolidation are implemented by companies to achieve IT efficiency and cost savings. Expand Networks' WAN Optimization technology enables these projects by maximizing application performance, bringing users into virtual proximity of applications to maintain productivity. But with resources likely to be significantly reduced in 2009, organizations need to stretch IT budgets further and gain a greater ROI on the existing infrastructure without affecting user productivity.

To help companies through the difficult economic climate and stimulate the market, Expand Networks has launched a Trade Up/Competitive Buy Back Program. Designed to meet customers' technical requirements and budgets, the Program is applicable to all Expand Networks' and equivalent competition products including Juniper, Riverbed, Cisco, Packeteer/Tacit, Blue Coat and Mentat.

"With IT budgets under intense scrutiny and likely to be reduced next year, companies need to extend the capabilities of their existing infrastructure and implement new initiatives without upgrading the infrastructure," said Adam Davison, Corporate VP Sales and Marketing, Expand Networks. "The Trade Up Program enables our customers to cost effectively scale their infrastructure and have the foundation to deliver and support new technologies such as centralized and virtualized computing when required."

The Expand Networks Trade Up/Competitive Buy Back Program enables:
  • existing Expand customers to trade up to any Expand platform of their choice
  • customers to upgrade datacenter devices to Expand's new 7930 Datacenter /Large Branch Office and 7940 Datacenter Accelerators with RAID-5 capabilities for even greater resilience
  • competitive buy back - enabling end users to trade in products for Expand's advanced technology
The terms of the Trade Up Program including pricing and maintenance contract will be agreed on an individual basis with customers via Expand Networks' Accredited Partner Program. Expand Networks will also be responsible for removing the 'traded' products and their recycling.
