The Bell Group Implements Egenera for Infrastructure Virtualization

Egenera, Inc. today announced The Bell Group (Rio Grande), one of the largest suppliers of silver and silver findings to the jewelry industry, has implemented an Egenera solution as the foundation of its data center virtualization strategy. PAN Manager(R) software by Egenera(R) allows The Bell Group to meet expanding computing requirements with less hardware resources, creating a more cost effective and efficient data center environment.

Headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, The Bell Group is investing in strategic technologies that enhance their ability to respond to customers, increase overall business agility and simplify data center operations for improved high availability and rapid provisioning of computing resources. The Egenera solution provides flexibility to quickly scale and provision resources, helping The Bell Group more effectively leverage key mission critical applications such as warehouse management and ERP services and cost-effectively provide real-time data to customers.

"Given the significant growth of our business, we needed a platform with high availability and sophisticated management capabilities to optimize our operations," said Danny Cox, CFO at The Bell Group. "We've transitioned from over 75 to less than 30 individual systems and rapid provisioning enables us to create test servers in as little as 30 minutes, which was crucial during the proof of concept phase."

"Our growing server farm had created many single points of failure," continued Cox. "PAN Manager software allows us to re-provision servers on the fly, making disaster recovery easy. The Egenera solution provides many additional benefits and I recommend that any IT leader should not risk their company's profit, future and brand image on anything but Egenera technology."
