Surgient, the leading provider of self-service virtualization automation and lab management, today announced its inclusion in the Software 500, the latest award in a string of industry achievements marking Surgient’s growth and momentum within the virtualization market.
The Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium to large enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers and business managers involved in software and services purchasing. Surgient was ranked number 418 in this year’s Software 500 list from Software Magazine.
Earlier in the year, Red Herring magazine honored the company as one of the top 100 private technology companies in North America. Red Herring judges selected Surgient for the 2008 Red Herring 100 North America award after considering more than 800 companies and following a careful review of Surgient’s business model, management, key alliances, customers, products and services.
Surgient was also named to Deloitte’s prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Texas, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the area by Deloitte LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations. Surgient represented the 16th fastest growing company in Texas, based on the 1,138 percent revenue growth over five years from 2003 – 2007.
In addition, Surgient was recently named one of Austin’s fastest growing companies in the Austin Business Journal’s annual Fast 50 rankings based on its revenue growth from 2005 – 2007.
“Surgient provides its customers and partners with a powerful virtualization solution that delivers cost saving self-service access to IT resources in a time when businesses are striving to be more efficient,” said Tim Lucas, president and CEO, Surgient. “The business value of virtualization is becoming abundantly clear and we are pleased to see how IT Operations organizations are using the Surgient Platform to effectively and cost-efficiently drive value for their companies.
