Xeround Launches Xeround Intelligent Data Grid Version 2.8

Xeround, Inc., a provider of real-time database virtualization software, today announced the launch of the Xeround Intelligent Data Grid(TM) version 2.8.  Xeround's vision is to enable cloud computing infrastructures for its customers by delivering data management within a cloud and data federation between clouds.  This release improves upon Xeround IDG's capabilities for real time, scalable database virtualization that unifies data across multiple networks and businesses while still improving total cost-of-ownership.  Customers implementing Xeround IDG
version 2.8 can now extend the life and usage of existing data assets to accelerate the time to market of new products and services while dramatically reducing costs.

Multiple market factors like the increased number of new service offerings and ongoing industry consolidation have left many companies, particularly communications service providers, struggling with massive increases in data -- much of it housed in disparate, legacy silos spread throughout their computing infrastructure.  Because the ability to quickly create new,
differentiated services is dependent on fast, reliable access to data stores, these companies risk losing out on new market opportunities.  Enter the Xeround IDG Suite -- the only database virtualization software capable of breaking the "silo barrier" to reach disparate data sources and reliably deliver data in real-time anywhere and anytime across multiple applications and networks.

"Xeround IDG was designed to address the need for highly scalable 'in-the-network' data management," said Charlotte Yarkoni, CEO, Xeround. "With Version 2.8, we've enhanced our  product to support a greater number of architectures and added more flexibility for managing the system.  With this release, we continue to lead the market with an unparalleled  commitment to reducing infrastructure costs and deliver superior performance."

Xeround IDG is built on a patented technology that can unify data across multiple networks and businesses in real-time and make that information available across a company's entire  ecosystem of network elements and applications.  Unlike point products or custom solutions, Xeround IDG is a scalable, reusable, easy-to-implement distributed architecture that increases the efficiency of existing infrastructures.

"Xeround IDG provides us the ability to support multiple data types in one solution, accelerating our ability to launch new services for our customers and reducing infrastructure costs," said Ilan Alter, director, Cellular Applications at Pelephone. "Xeround has become a trusted partner, consistently delivering innovative technology along with superior customer support."

The Next Evolution -- Xeround IDG Version 2.8

Xeround IDG version 2.8 allows for real-time access to data regardless of where it physically exists, provides support for multiple data access protocols and also has a flexible self-healing architecture that allows for continuity of service even in the event of a failure.  Other enhancements found in version 2.8 include:

  • Flexible Data Distribution and Replication Modeling
    • Increased the types of architectures supported to ensure the right tradeoffs between performance and reliability
    • Customers can choose the optimal architecture for their application requirements and can change it with a simple configuration update
  • Persistent Storage Enhancements
    • Includes high-performance writes of data to disks for persistency
    • Transaction processing continues uninterrupted even if part of the system is down or in recovery mode
  • Expanded SQL and Transaction Support
    • Allows processing of diverse data access sets and usage patterns including real-time, near real-time and full table-scan querying patterns
    • Includes support for multiple applications updating the same data record without sacrificing data integrity or high-performance
  • Improved Manageability
    • Offers a GUI-based System Health Monitor module with expanded capabilities for reporting point failures and understanding overall system health across a distributed environment

Availability and Pricing

Xeround IDG version 2.8 is currently in beta and will be made generally available to the public in late January 2009.  Xeround's pricing options are tailored to meet customer business models and include project-based professional services for faster integration into existing environments.
