Tier1 Research Launches Datacenter Transformation Summit 2009
Tier1 Research (T1R), the leading independent research firm covering the Internet infrastructure sector, is proud to announce the launch of the Datacenter Transformation Summit 2009, a premier forum for IT decision-makers to come together with executives from the datacenter industry. The Datacenter Transformation Summit will provide unique insight into the datacenter decision-making process, since it is the only event to bring datacenter architects, industry visionaries, senior IT architects, financial professionals and datacenter operators together to talk about the future of datacenters. Delegates will come together to learn, network and map out strategies in conjunction with Tier1 Research's Datacenter Strategies team.

The Datacenter Transformation Summit is long on actionable advice and short on unsupportable predictions. Major areas of focus will include key criteria for enterprise datacenter vendor selection, power density and cost metrics, the datacenter buy-versus-build decision, green datacenters, the real impact of virtualization on datacenters and much more. This exclusive program will examine the top issues and challenges for datacenter professionals and IT decision-makers, as well as the future of datacenters. The 2009 Datacenter Transformation Summit is taking place on April 28, 2009 at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon, VA.

"The goal of Tier1 Research in producing the Datacenter Transformation Summit is to provoke unique dialogue, in the context of in-depth insight from T1R analysts, on the tough challenges affecting enterprise datacenter professionals," said Daniel Golding, Vice President and Research Director of Tier1 Research and Conference Chair. "No other industry event can provide the mix of technological and vendor selection data, combined with clear financial analysis."

Summit Focus

The summit will include insight from members of the Tier1 Research team, who will offer the latest bottom-up market forecast for all datacenter segments. There will be direct interaction between delegates and Tier1 analysts through intimate networking receptions, popular social networking applications, one-on-one sessions, personal introductions and panel discussions.

"While the program will be deeply compelling, our clients have told us, year after year, that the greatest value in attending Tier1 Research events lies in the tremendous networking opportunities," said Golding.

Attendees include decision-makers at firms that participate in the value chain of the Internet infrastructure and hosting markets, such as: wholesale and colocation datacenter providers; enterprise procurement managers, IT managers and executives; datacenter architects and construction professionals; investors and deal-makers, from Wall Street analysts to private investors; key datacenter value chain vendors, including server, storage, security and network equipment firms; and datacenter software and management system vendors.

Additional program highlights include:

  • Discussion of the move from in-house datacenter facilities to the new generation of wholesale, colocation and carrier-neutral facilities
  • Examination of low-latency/proximity hosting, power density and cooling issues
  • Analysis of the impact of network density and carrier neutrality on datacenter economics, staff training and retention
  • A deep dive into the latest datacenter technology, including the good, the bad and the truly foolish.
